"Good night," called a voice happy and perky in nature, "I'll see you in the morning," A door closed as a couple horses nickered in their stalls. But one stood stock still staring out into the nothingness. There was no point to this life, no point at all. Day in day out, it was all the same. The form wanted something different something knew. But she stood, waiting. Maybe for something amazing to happen. But nothing did. She thought of her life. Every day Liz would come to see her, and then at night would leave again. She knew that Liz loved her, but Lithium wanted more, she didn't care about the love of a young teenage girl. She wanted to do something with her life, she didn't care what it was. But anyhting was okay. Anything that didn't involve standing in a stall all day. Something, anything, what ever it was something had to save her from the monotony.

Arching her neck over the stall the black mare managed to free herself and walked outside of the barn pushing the door open. clip, clop, clip, clop. Her shoed hooved clicked on the cement. When she reached the end where the grass began she broke into a trot, and then a canter. Finally she began to gallop. Galloping away from her old life and into her knew life. Moving on and on. Not stopping. It stormed that night. WHat a welcomed change from the monotony. She didn't care that he black coat was soppin wet, not the fact she could barly pull her hooves through all the mood. The fact that her mane stuck to her neck because of all the water was meaningless to her. Really, it was all the same. She was free of monotony.

Yes, Lithium remembered it well. She remembered the storming night that she had left. She remembered the way her pelt had looked then. She remembered it's clean cut well groomed nature. The mane you could pull a comb through without catching a single knot. She remembered those days. But without a sixteen year old girl to groom her twice a day she looked nothing like that anymore. She doubted that Liz would even recognise her if they ever saw eachother again. But she didn't care. Her thoughts almost never wandered to her owner. Why should they? She had escaped the life of others controling what she did, now it was time for her to make her own decisions. And wise ones she would make. She would do her best to make the best out of the life she was given.

Boy was her new life different. One look at the pond that laid at her feet told her that much. The horse she saw in it's crystal waters was not her own reflection but a mare that had taken it's place. The clean coat and sily mane and turned to a ruff and scragly coat with a long tangled mess of a mane. Still the appearance sooted her. She had never been the most beautiful of horses. Her once blemishless pelt was scattered with scars, a run of dired blood hung right above her left hind leg where she had broke the skin three days before. or rather one of those persky stallions had done it for her.

That was Lithium's problem. Stallions thought they were the king. Well, it was a load of rubbish if you asked her. They were thoughtless, stupid, bastards if you asked her. The lot of them. They didn't have a bit of sence in them at all. But she guessed it wouldn't be helped. It was just the way they were, and nothing anybody did was going to change that she presumed. But she tried. She would try to make her point across to any mare that would listen. She fought stallions trying to convinvce them she was as worthy an opponant as any stallion. And she refused to let them calim her like a plot of land. She was better then they were. AShe had a brain, and more importantly, she used it.

;; earthbound forever ♥

Firebrand tread carefully through the thick wood, his senses sharp as pins. Delicate auds fluttered about his handsome Arabic crown, and coalish orbs peered through slivers of space in the tangled growth, thin nares flared as he grew in the earthy scent of his surroundings. Naturally, he was frugal and excitable czar with too much energy and hyper senses to the environment he was immersed in. His walk was a jittery dance instead of a slow, paced gait, and much like a small child, his temper would unleash suddenly. He had grown up in the hands of parents very much like himself. Firebrand forced a snort through his parched maw, the braids of lean muscle in his narrow pinions flexing as he increased his gait to a roused trot. The soft melody of water grooming the lake shore was evident, and thirst clawed its way into his throat.

His sleek, hot chestnut frame sliced through the grown, his battered flints moving with ease over the sketchy terrain. Being one of the Mineral Race, he knew the land well, and was as sure footed as a mountain goat - if not, better. He leaped out from the bushes and trees clustered about the lake to a dirt spraying halt and glanced about furtively. The lake had bewitchingly marvalous scenery. The smooth, unrippled lake was spread over a large distance, its surface like a mirror cradled between lush hills sprinkled with forest. The shoreline was composted of colourful pebbles wedged in among each other to create a rather artsy looking mosiac. The water was clear enough to see the mosaic shore as it slipped away into the blue, aquatic plants thriving in the rich earth beneath the pebbles. Silvery, streamlined fish darted to and fro like s metallic light zipping through the water. Not only that, growing on the line where forest met shore was a long strip of lush, piquant grasses that arched around the shoreline. Firebrand felt at peace here. And better yet, in the distance he could see the ice glazed mountain tops piercing the cloudline, golden sunlight spilling against thier magnificent faces. He really did feel at peace here.

Firebrand lowered his whiskery kissers, drinking the icy water in greedily and feeling it freeze a cool track down his throat and kill his thirst on the spot. All of a sudden, he heard a rustle. He snapped his attention away from the water and whipped, dished pricks swerving about atop his alert cranuim. His muscles were coiled defensively as he scooted down the shore, forcing out manly snorts and curling his powerful boa. He gave his unruly locks a vigorous shake, feeling them tumble softly over his muscled serpentine once more. As he turned a corner, he halted, fixing his hollow, dark eyes on on the figure of a fae he'd never seen before. His petite pricks buckled back against his elegant skull, his wide nares dilated as he watched her.

"Hello."
